EMW Wins NATO Contract for Providing Communications and Information Systems Connectivity at KABUL Afghanistan International Airport

Herndon, Virginia — EMW, Inc. has won a NATO Consultation, Command, and Control Agency (NC3A) contract to provide Communication and Information Systems (CIS) Connectivity at Kabul International Airport (KAIA) in Afghanistan.

NATO forces are deployed to KAIA to support the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission. ISAF is currently operating from the Southern part of the runway in KAIA, and is to relocate all operating and living facilities to the Northern part of the runway. The purpose of the KAIA CIS connectivity contract is to provide the material, labor, integration and testing of installation of the connectivity means to and in buildings within the KAIA North compound for use to transport CIS capability throughout the compound.

The new Air Port of Debarkation (APOD) operational Northern facilities will be capable of hosting all CIS services from a single voice and data center for the purpose of KAIA Air Operations. The overall connectivity of the new CIS facility will be provided by fiber optic and copper cabling.

The project scope includes:

 •   Procurement of materials
 •   Transportation of the materials to KAIA
 •   Installation, termination and testing of connectivity between Network’s communication nodes, user locations and connecting communication node.
