EMW Wins NATO Information Exchange Gateways Contract

Herndon, Virginia — EMW, Inc. of Herndon, Virginia, USA, has been awarded a Contract by the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) in Brussels, Belgium to provide NATO with Information Exchange Gateways (IEG) Services. This project includes the development and implementation of IEG to support the exchange of Command and Control Information between NATO (the Bi-SC AIS) and NATO CIS Enclaves in the NATO Nations. The purpose of the Gateways is to establish a common infrastructure, rationalize communications, and provide a framework within which all NATO CIS Enclaves can exchange C2 information with NATO according to a common set of understandings and rules. The scope of this Contract is to design, procure, install, test and deliver IEG systems in NATO Commands and at the Purchaser’s option, in NATO Nations. The IEG sites will initially be capable of supporting web proxy services as well as security services such as Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Firewalls, and will be capable of supporting additional functionality to meet other information exchange requirements (e.g., email, formal messaging, directory services, etc.). From a management and security perspective, the Gateways will provide administrative separation of network management domains between NATO and the NATO CIS Enclaves of NATO member Nations.
